Podcast: Different Journeys, Different Minds

Breaking Barriers & Bossin’ It: Celebrating Neurodiversity in Business

This week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global opportunity to recognise and celebrate different ways of thinking, learning and experiencing the world.

As the host of the Breaking Barriers & Bossin’ It podcast on Lichfield Radio, and as someone who is autistic, I’ve had the privilege of speaking with entrepreneurs and professionals who are building successful businesses while navigating barriers.

Neurodiversity includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. The term recognises that these differences are part of natural human diversity, rather than something that always needs to be “fixed”.

Through the podcast, I’ve spoken with guests who were diagnosed when they were young, as well as others who discovered they were neurodivergent later in life. While their journeys are very different, a common theme often emerges — once people understand how their minds work, they can begin to unlock their strengths and potential.

Neurodivergent thinkers frequently bring creativity, innovation and unique problem-solving abilities to the workplace and to entrepreneurship.

Breaking Barriers & Bossin’ It aims to highlight these stories and show that when businesses embrace different ways of thinking, everyone benefits.
