Thousands of runners have enjoyed the event since its inception.
Following the successful completion of this year’s Cathedral to Castle Run, event organiser Gary Williams, from Seventeen43 Management, recently presented a donation of £1,118 to Lichfield St Chad Rotary. The Rotary will now distribute these funds to deserving charities and good causes.
Gary has also visited the Rotary Club of Lichfield for a presentation of a similar amount to be distributed in the same way.
The Cathedral to Castle Run, a 10-mile multi-terrain run linking Lichfield Cathedral to Tamworth Castle, was devised by Rotarians from Lichfield and Tamworth in 2014, as a community event to raise funds for local worthy causes. Starting with the first event in April 2017, it has since been held annually (except for 2020 due to Covid restrictions) and has grown from strength to strength. The run has gained a great reputation for its multi-terrain route, as well as for being well organised and having lots of encouraging, friendly marshals.

After the April 2023 Cathedral to Castle Run, the Rotary clubs handed over the ownership and organisation of the event to Seventeen43 Limited, but have continued to be involved in a marshalling capacity. Rotary says it is delighted that Gary has continued to organise the Cathedral to Castle Run in an excellent way for the last three years, and that this much-loved quality event has continued to grow in popularity.
