The George Hotel is celebrating a remarkable milestone this year; 25 years under the ownership of the Webb Hotel Group. To mark the occasion, the hotel will host a special anniversary celebration and offer a range of exclusive promotions to thank guests and the local community for their continued support.
The George Hotel is a Georgian coaching inn set in the heart of historic Lichfield and has been a cherished part of the city for generations. Since being acquired by the Webb Hotel Group in 2000, the property has undergone significant improvements, including the creation of the popular Darwin’s Brasserie, stylish bedroom refurbishments and enhancements throughout the hotel that blend traditional character with modern comfort.
The Webb Hotel Group is a family-owned small group of 4 hotels. Established when the Webb family purchased Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in 1961, the group now owns the Cathedral Hotel in Lichfield, The Gables Hotel in Gloucestershire alongside the George Hotel. The group continues to uphold its founding values of warm hospitality, integrity and a personal touch. Today, third-generation family members are actively involved in operations, ensuring that the family ethos remains central to everything they do.
