“It’s time to dig out your best sci-fi costume and join in the fun.”

Following the huge success of Space Invasion 2025, the free family event returns to Lichfield this year for a whole weekend!
Stand by for action, as we welcome a host of costumed characters from the worlds of film and TV sci-fi. Look out for these well-known characters on the streets of Lichfield and in and around The Hub at St Mary’s.
The good, the bad and the ugly from every corner of the galaxy may be dropping in at various times over the weekend. Who will you meet… An Imperial Stormtrooper? The evil Darth Vader? or even the dreaded Daleks! Be sure to lookout for K9 and the Ghostbusters car as well… It’s out of this world!

Whether you’re a child or an adult that doesn’t want to grow up, why not join in the fun by dressing up yourself? It doesn’t matter who or what you come as – just let your imagination run wild! Your best fancy dress, or your favourite film or TV character – anything goes! Just make sure to pop into The Hub where there’ll be a small treat for all children in costume.
Event organiser Simon Horton says “it’s time to dig out your best sci-fi costume and join in the fun. And don’t forget to pop into The Hub for a spot of Jedi training and Tardis spotting. Beam me up!”
May the force be with you all!

As part of this special event, funds are being raised not only for The Hub’s community work but also for Elaine’s Toy & Gift Appeal – so look out for collectors walking around with the Stormtroopers!
There’s also a whole host of fun activities in and around The Hub over the weekend:
- Exciting photo opportunities with lots of film and TV characters, including Storm Troopers, Doctor Who’s Tardis, K9 and the Ghostbusters car (Ecto-1)
- Train to become a Jedi knight
- Transform into your favourite characters with sci-fi face painting
- Try galaxy-inspired sweet treats in the Coffee Shop
- Chat with artist Lee Bradley, look around his Toonverse Exhibition & buy a print of your favourite Marvel or Cartoon character to take home
