Lichfield Maize Maze has returned for an exciting 2026 summer season

This season looks set to be one of its best yet.

Families looking for an unforgettable summer day out in Staffordshire have plenty to enjoy as Lichfield Maize Maze has returned for its 2026 season, having opened on Friday 24 July and running through to Tuesday 1 September 2026. Set on a working family farm just outside Lichfield, the award-winning attraction has become one of the region’s favourite summer destinations, combining outdoor adventure, beautiful flower fields and family-friendly activities.

The centrepiece of the 2026 season is an all-new Rainforest-themed Maize Maze, designed to celebrate the incredible wildlife of the world’s rainforests and mark Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Visitors can navigate both the Orangutan themed Main Maze – a giant design with over three-and-a-half miles of winding paths and interactive games – and the Scarlet Macaw Mini Maze – a smaller companion maze – while solving educational challenges and discovering fascinating facts about rainforest animals along the way. Every guest receives a maze map, activity card and stickers to enhance the adventure.

While the giant maize maze is the headline attraction, there’s plenty more included with admission.

Guests can stroll through vibrant sunflower and wildflower fields, with the opportunity to pick their own flowers to take home. Different varieties bloom throughout the summer, meaning each visit offers something new to enjoy. Flowers are priced separately based on the stems or bunches selected.

Children can burn off energy in a variety of outdoor play areas featuring:

  • Giant sandpit
  • Straw bale towers
  • Ride-on mini tractors
  • Swing ball
  • Traditional garden games
  • Spacious picnic areas

The on-site Field & Flower Café also provides refreshments, while the gift shop offers souvenirs to remember the day.

Located on Watling Street near Lichfield, around 12 miles from Birmingham city centre, Lichfield Maize Maze is run by farmer Richard, Alice and their family. Since opening, the attraction has grown into a much-loved annual tradition for thousands of local families while maintaining its relaxed countryside atmosphere.

The combination of educational activities, outdoor play and open green spaces makes it an ideal destination for toddlers, older children, grandparents and anyone wanting to spend quality time outdoors during the school holidays.

For 2026, the attraction will once again host several Quiet Time Sessions, offering a calmer experience for visitors who prefer a more relaxed environment. These early-entry sessions take place on selected dates throughout the summer and allow families to enjoy the attraction before it becomes busier later in the day.

The 2026 summer season runs daily from Friday 24 July until Tuesday 1 September, with opening hours from 9:30am to 5:00pm (last admission 3:45pm). Visitors are encouraged to book online in advance, particularly during weekends and school holidays when sessions can sell out. Free parking is available on site.

Whether you’re tackling the rainforest maze, photographing colourful sunflower fields, enjoying a picnic or simply letting the children explore the outdoor play areas, Lichfield Maize Maze promises another memorable summer of family fun in the Staffordshire countryside.

For many families across the Midlands, it’s become a summer tradition – and with a brand new maze, beautiful flowers and plenty of outdoor adventure, the 2026 season looks set to be one of its best yet.
