

A bartender from Lichfield has been named among the top 50 in the Diageo World Class UK 2026 competition, a global search for the best bartending talent, testing skill, creativity and hospitality.
Sam Key, from The Spiritualist in Lichfield, has been selected as a finalist in the competition, widely regarded as one of the most respected contests in the bar industry.
The competition saw hundreds of entries from across the UK, with Sam emerging as a standout for their exceptional craft and unique cocktail creations.
Heather Key, from The Spiritualist, said the team was proud of Sam’s achievement.

The next stage of the competition will see the top 50 finalists take part in a series of intensive challenges designed to push the boundaries of modern cocktail culture, with the chance to progress to the UK national final.
The overall winner will go on to represent Great Britain at the World Class Global Finals in Dubai later this year.
