This February, local independent children’s book business The Story Nook is proudly supporting Children’s Mental Health Week (9th –15th February) by delivering curated bundles of books to local nurseries and schools, helping to support children’s emotional wellbeing across the community.
Run by Independent Usborne Partner Kate Styles, The Story Nook is donating age-appropriate book bundles for children from nursery age through to Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. The books have been carefully selected to help children understand their feelings, build resilience and support positive mental health.
Kate is passionate about the power of books and believes they can offer both comfort through stories and practical guidance through factual titles.

This initiative has been made possible thanks to the generosity and community spirit of local businesses who have sponsored book bundles, helping ensure high-quality mental health resources reach children in schools and nurseries who may not otherwise have access to them.
The businesses supporting this project include Happy Human Collective, Beyond Bootcamp, Yarny Bees, Harrold Financial Services, Richard Winterton Auctioneers and The Auction Café, Andrew Downing Booth Estate Agents, Upstairs by Tom Shepherd, Lichfield Maize Maze, Jungle Street Kitchen and The Avenue Estate Agents.
Schools and nurseries can still be nominated to receive a book bundle. Anyone wishing to nominate a setting can contact Kate via Facebook @thestorynookbooks or Instagram @thestorynook_uk. There is also still time for additional local businesses to get involved, with book deliveries continuing throughout February.
Kate is a mum of four and a local volunteer who runs Christchurch Under 5s Playgroup. She is also a mentor to other Independent Usborne Partners and enjoys supporting those looking for flexible work who would like to set up their own children’s book business around a busy life.
