Community comes together for festive celebration with Santa, carols and mulled wine.
Burntwood Town Council brought festive cheer to Boney Hay on Monday night with their annual Christmas lights switch on event at the corner of Bells Lane and Longfellow Road.
Residents from across the surrounding area gathered for the celebration, with children treated to a special visit from Santa Claus, supported by Burntwood Rotary Club. The evening was filled with Christmas spirit as Boney Hay Primary School choir performed seasonal classics, warming hearts with their festive repertoire.
Free refreshments, mince pies and mulled wine kept everyone in good spirits, kindly donated by Haywoods Blinds, Bromford and Tesco Lichfield.
Cllr Laura Evans, chair of Burntwood Town Council, was delighted with the turnout.
“On Monday I went up to Bells Lane for the Boney Hay Christmas Light Switch On. The turnout was amazing and the event itself was wonderful. It was great to see so many children turn up to see Santa, listen to the lovely children from Boney Hay Academy School singing us some Christmas songs and everyone seemed to have a great time. A wonderful event as normal, thank you to everyone that came out.”
The successful event marks another year of bringing the Boney Hay community together to celebrate the start of the festive season.
