An evening of live music showcasing rising local talent is set to take place in Burntwood next month.
Lichfield Arts, in partnership with Creative Burntwood, is bringing the Emerging Talent Takeover to Burntwood Rugby Club on Friday 8th May.
The event is part of Lichfield Arts’ wider programme supporting early-career artists and young people as they develop their skills and take their first steps into the creative industries. The initiative provides performance opportunities, mentoring and practical support to help artists build confidence and connect with new audiences.
The Burntwood showcase will feature a line-up of young performers from across the local area, including two solo artists and two bands.
Among those performing are L’Exterieur, a Lichfield-based alt-rock band formed in 2024, blending influences from Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, Muse and Paramore with their own original material.
Also on the bill are Snapped, a teenage band gaining a following through local gigs and festivals with their mix of rock, pop-punk and original tracks.
The line-up also includes Lauren Mary, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Burntwood whose indie-folk style combines reflective songwriting with intimate vocals, and Finn Hawkins, a South Staffordshire College music student performing a mix of classic and contemporary songs.
The event promises a lively, grassroots atmosphere and the chance to discover some of the region’s emerging talent.
Doors open at 7pm, with music starting from 7.30pm.
