‘The Band’ will be presented by the Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company.
A heartwarming musical packed with the songs of Take That and a story that will capture the heart of anyone who has ever loved a band is coming to the Lichfield Garrick Theatre this July.
Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company will present The Band, Tim Firth’s uplifting story of friendship, memories and music, from 14 to 18 July.
For anyone who grew up in the 1990s, The Band is a nostalgic journey back to first crushes, bedroom posters, school friendships and the music that shaped a generation.
This moving show follows a group of school friends who reunite as adults after 25 years and relive their teenage obsession with a boy band. As old memories resurface, they discover that friendship can help carry us through life’s greatest joys and toughest challenges.
With music by Take That – from Never Forget and Back for Good to Greatest Day and Rule the World – the show is a funny, emotional and uplifting celebration of friendship, memories and the soundtrack of a generation.
Director Paula Lumsden said the show is “so much more than a musical packed with Take That hits”.
It’s a funny, moving and uplifting story about friendship, memories and the people who stay with us throughout our lives.
Combined with fantastic music, brilliant choreography and the excitement of our own on-stage boy band, it promises to be a wonderful night out.

The production is directed by Paula Lumsden, with musical direction by Sheila Pearson, choreography by Maggie Jackson and assistant direction by Chelsea Regan.
