These are being put on alongside the regular monthly film night.
St Anne’s Church and Community Hub in Chasetown will host concerts from recorder group Palisander on Tuesday 14 July at 6.30pm, and Scottish-Indian classical guitarist Samrat Majumder on Wednesday 15 July at 6pm, as part of the Creative Burntwood initiative launched earlier this year.
Palisander perform largely from memory on recorders up to six-feet tall, and prides itself on showcasing the musical versatility of the instrument. With unique new compositions and arrangements and self-devised choreography, the quartet has quickly established itself as a vibrant young ensemble.
You can also lose yourself in the wonders of Indian classical guitar with Samrat Majumder. Currently studying for his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Baltimore, Samrat was announced as the inaugural Young Classical Artists Trust 40th Anniversary Artist in 2025.

Live entertainment will take place from 7pm with the Three Spires Morris Dancing Group, before the film starts at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served during the interval.
Entry is free and all donations are welcome, which raise funds for St Anne’s to facilitate its ongoing programme of community activities.
Film Night takes place on the third Thursday of each month and relaunched in April with Downton Abbey, The Grand Finale and refreshments from Co-Op Highfields Road. In May, a special screening of independent film A Game Of Two Halves took place, with a director Q&A, live music from dhol and tabla percussionist Sahil Solanki and Indian snacks from Chase Balti. June saw a screening of Alan Bennett’s The Choral, preceded by live music from Burntwood U3A choir.
