Lichfield auctioneer Richard Winterton will take on the 2026 London Marathon this Sunday (26th April), raising funds for two causes close to his heart.
Richard will run the 26.2-mile course in aid of Parkinson’s UK and We Love Lichfield, with supporters able to follow his progress live throughout the day.

Supporters can track his journey using the official 2026 TCS London Marathon app.
Step 1: Download the app
Search for ‘2026 TCS London Marathon’ in the App Store or Google Play and install it.
Step 2: Find Richard
Open the app and use the search feature to enter his details – bib number 79778.
Step 3: Follow his journey
You’ll be able to:
- Track his live location on the course
- See timing updates at key points
- Get an estimated finish time
- Cheer him on from wherever you are!
Richard’s wave start time is 11.12am, so tracking will begin from around this time.
The TCS London Marathon attracts more than 50,000 participants each year, from elite athletes to amateur runners, creating one of the world’s most iconic sporting events.
Richard said taking on the challenge was a personal milestone.
After turning 60, I wanted to do something special. People’s generosity has been amazing and the tallies for both charities have grown and grown.
