Happily, nobody was exterminated!

Lichfield Tuneless Choir began last Saturday’s appearance at the Lichfield Festival of Music with an unexpected warm-up act – a Dalek!
The extraterrestrial visitor was travelling to a space convention in Lichfield when choir members spotted it and persuaded it to join them for a song. Happily, nobody was exterminated, although several notes may have suffered.
We had such a lot of fun. Singing with a Dalek was a first, even for us!

The choir then took to the stage at Wade Street Church, performing Happy Together and Something Inside So Strong in its joyful, wholehearted style. The singers received encouraging comments from the adjudicator, who praised their warm, rich sound, clear words, expressive movement and infectious sense of fun.
The Lichfield Festival of Music is a friendly celebration of amateur music-making, staged across three Saturdays in September (continuing again today). Its varied programme includes choral, vocal, piano and instrumental classes, giving performers of all ages and abilities the chance to perform and receive feedback.
The choir was thrilled and honoured to be invited to perform again at the Festival Concert on Saturday 26 September!
Our advice to concertgoers? Come, join the fun and leave the sonic screwdriver at home!
Sarah Jane Spare is Choir Leader of Lichfield Tuneless.
