An exciting new competition is encouraging children, families and residents of all ages to think about helmet safety, while supporting the campaign to bring a pump track to Burntwood.
The team behind “Let’s Get a Pump Track Built in Burntwood” has launched a fun, interactive helmet design competition featuring Elliott and ET — a much-loved cardboard cutout duo who have been spotted touring locations across Burntwood and surrounding areas.
So far, Elliott and ET have visited Heath Hayes Library, The Cabin at Brambles Retail Village and Cannock Cinema, with upcoming appearances planned at The Beach Hut Soft Play Centre and The Trident Pub.
At each location, residents are invited to design their very own “awesome helmet” using special Wipeout helmets. Participants can draw their designs as many times as they like before having their photo taken with Elliott and ET to be entered into the competition.
The initiative has already seen positive engagement from people of all ages, with a wide range of creative and colourful helmet designs submitted.
Organisers hope the competition will raise awareness of the importance of wearing helmets in a fun, engaging way, encouraging safe riding habits alongside support for the proposed pump track.
Residents are encouraged to keep an eye out for Elliott and ET at venues near them for a chance to take part and win prizes.
Anyone who would like to suggest a venue for Elliott and ET to visit can get in touch via the campaign’s Facebook group.
