Celebrity lookalikes from across Staffordshire are being invited to take part in a unique theatre event when internationally acclaimed artist Alison Jackson brings her hit show Faking Famous: You Can Be a Celebrity Too to Lichfield Garrick on 3rd June.
Jackson, a BAFTA-award winning artist and filmmaker, is known around the world for her striking and often humorous photographs and films that feature celebrity lookalikes staged in imagined situations. Her work playfully blurs the line between reality and illusion while exploring society’s fascination with fame and celebrity culture.
Following a successful run at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where the show received five-star reviews and won a Fringe Theatre Award – Faking Famous now arrives in Lichfield for one night only.
The interactive performance gives audiences a behind-the-scenes look at Jackson’s creative process as she reveals how convincing celebrity illusions are created using lookalikes, clever staging and live photography.
During the show, members of the audience may even be invited on stage and transformed into their own celebrity personas, with a panel of judges and the audience voting for their favourite lookalike.

As part of the event, Jackson is also encouraging local people who think they resemble a famous face to come forward and get involved. Lookalikes of famous figures such as members of the Royal Family, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and Kim Kardashian have all appeared in her work.
