St Anne’s Film Night on Thursday 21 May will be a special screening of A Game Of Two Halves – the directorial debut of independent film maker Khayam Khan. Khan will also be present at the event to conduct a Q&A session after the screening.

A Game Of Two Halves follows Sanjay, a young British student who travels to India to teach football to underprivileged children, leading to a profound journey of self-discovery. This family drama runs approximately 90 minutes, rather like the beautiful game!
The evening will begin at 7pm, with live music from Sahil Solanki, an experienced percussionist with over 20 years of playing Tabla and Dhol, both as a solo artist and with live bands. Known for his powerful rhythm and stage presence, Solanki blends traditional and contemporary styles to create an engaging musical experience. He says he is proud to be part of this charity event, using his music to support a meaningful cause and connect with the community.
The film will start at 7.30pm. Interval refreshments will include Indian snacks kindly donated by Chase Balti take-away. Located in Chasetown High Street, this popular restaurant is renowned for its authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, offering a wide range of flavourful vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
Film Night takes place at St Anne’s on the third Thursday of each month, and relaunched in April with Downton Abbey, The Grand Finale. The Co-Op on Highfields Road generously provided the refreshments.
Entry is free, and all donations raise funds for St Anne’s which help to facilitate its ongoing programme of community activities.
