October time in Lichfield means four days of sublime music, stunning artistry and breath-taking virtuosity!
With eight concerts over our long weekend (Thursday 1 October to Sunday 4), there is plenty to enjoy – whether you’re a classical music aficionado or joining us for the first time, with music for piano, string quartet, piano trio, trumpet, guitar, accordion, voice and viol.
Chamber music might sound like specialist terminology, but at its heart it simply describes small‑scale classical concerts performed by soloists or compact ensembles. It offers a chance to escape from our busy world and relax.
This year’s Festival welcomes a range of performers, including returning artists the Paddington Trio, pianist Clare Hammond, accordionist Ryan Corbett, and trumpeter Aaron Azunda Akugbo. We’re also delighted to welcome to the Festival for the first time the viols and voice pairing of the Intesa Duo, award-winning pianist Ryan Zhu, the multi-tasking Chameleon Quartet, who showcase a plethora of wind instruments, and more.
