The Lichfield & Burntwood Repair and Share Café has been running for more than seven years, helping local people save money, reduce waste and build stronger community connections.
Each month, the café welcomes people bringing in a wide variety of items that might otherwise have gone to the tip. Instead, these items are repaired, shared or repurposed, giving them a new lease of life. The initiative not only saves money for local families but also reduces waste and benefits the environment.
Equally important is the sense of community the café creates. Neighbours come together, share skills and support one another in a friendly and welcoming environment.
We have been going for over seven years and see a lot of items brought to us each month. It saves money for people and saves items going to the tip, with the added bonus of creating a community that gets together.
The Repair and Share Café plans to share more details about its journey and upcoming events in the coming weeks. With its combination of practical help and community spirit, it is a fantastic example of local people working together to make a difference.
