The almost-holy trinity of Lichfield’s beautiful walking routes, fascinating local history and love of cakes are coming together this Sunday (11 October) for the latest Erasmus Darwin Walk.

Erasmus, says the Darwin Walks Trust, had a lot more about him than simply being the grandfather of the more recognised Charles.

If you are interested in finding out more about the man and his many achievements, this weekend’s event is certainly for you.

The approximately four-mile walk will start from Bunkers Hill Car Park, Beacon Park, at 10am, and go through some wonderful parts of Lichfield.

Following the walk, a talk – on “The Life and Heritage of Erasmus Darwin”, given by Erasmus Darwin House trustee Jenny Arthur – will take place at Erasmus Darwin House, Cathedral Close. Tea, coffee and cake will also be offered out, for just £3.00 a head.
