The Academy is firmly rooted in Staffordshire and is committed to developing strong links with local communities.
Following its establishment earlier this year, the Curborough Academy for Social Sciences (CASS) will mark its official launch with a community celebration at Lichfield Guildhall on Saturday 22 August.
The morning will begin with an invitation-only Stakeholder Reception from 10-11am, bringing together representatives from education, health and social care, local government, employers, charities, universities, local businesses and community organisations. From 11am, the event will be open to members of the public.
Founded by experienced educator Karen Benedikz, CASS has been created to widen access to flexible, high-quality adult education while building strong partnerships across Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands.
While its courses will be available to learners across the UK through flexible online delivery, the Academy is firmly rooted in Staffordshire and is committed to developing strong links with local communities, employers, voluntary organisations and public services.
The Academy plans to offer qualifications in Psychology, Health and Social Care, Mental Health, SEND, Education, Early Years, and Leadership and Management. Its mission is to support adults to develop new skills, gain recognised qualifications and progress into employment or higher education through accessible and flexible learning opportunities.
Karen said that “CASS was founded on the belief that education changes lives”.
While we deliver flexible online learning to adults across the UK, we’re firmly rooted in Staffordshire and committed to playing an active role within our local community.
Our official launch is an opportunity to bring together organisations and residents who share a belief in the power of education to create opportunities, build confidence and support personal and professional growth. We want CASS to be recognised not only as a provider of high-quality education, but as a valued community partner that works collaboratively to support local people and local priorities.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend from 11am to meet the CASS team, learn about future courses and partnership opportunities, take part in competitions and find out more about the Academy’s vision for adult learning.
