Sponsored by Home Instead Tamworth, Lichfield & North Warwickshire, a community dementia workshop is being held in Lichfield next month, in order to help support those searching for information about dementia. This workshop will allow people to ask any questions they may have in a safe environment, engaging with other people from the community in similar situations.
Healthcare professionals will be present to detail important aspects of dementia, such as: the different types and symptoms people may experience and how best to respond based on their behaviours and needs. In doing this, they will be able to help people plan for the future, as well as providing comfort for anyone who may need it.
These professionals will also highlight the importance of nutrition and engagement in activities for people experiencing dementia symptoms, and will answer the fundamental question of “what is dementia?”.
This workshop is a chance for the community to come together and learn more about an important topic which is likely to affect one in 10 people over the age of 65.
