Lichfield Radio’s Gardening Podcast Just Keeps on Sowing and Growing!

‘Sowing and Growing’ was the idea, and is the podcast written and presented by Iona Chisholm, keen gardener and half plot allotment holder.

She writes monthly for Garden News Magazine and other gardening publications, and has presented at Gardeners’ World Live at the NEC on the current Gardeners’ World ‘Make a Metre Matter’ Campaign. She was delighted to be asked to plan and host Lichfield Radio’s gardening show.

Weekly LIVE Podcast: Iona Chisholm Presents SOWING & GROWING

You are warmly invited to join Lichfield Radio’s supportive gardening community. We will be sowing seeds, sharing knowledge and growing plants together. Each episode will be jam packed with exciting features! We’ll regularly celebrate the ‘Rod Stewplant’ – the plant that’s strutting centre stage in the border, look at jobs for the week and support wildlife gardening in ‘A Walk on the Wildlife Side’. And there may be some unexpected key words for you to listen out for in the podcasts.

Iona is sometimes joined by special guests who take part in the quick-fire garden quiz ‘Oh Fork!’ A good performance brings the prize of a gardening joke!

We’ll be building up the Sowing and Growing compost heap which likes to be piled high with good deeds and positive stories related to gardening. And we will play lots of great music where the title, artist or lyrics make a link to gardening – the more tenuous, the better!

Finally, at the end of the podcasts, Iona will leave you with a positive quote about gardening to reflect upon. In the first podcast she used “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow” from Audrey Hepburn.
