This year, Pathway Project is asking the kind and generous people of Lichfield to “give the gift of giving” by donating gift vouchers for supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Asda, or by purchasing items from the charity’s Amazon wish list.
Imagine being a mother who knows her daughter longs for a pink frilly tutu this Christmas. It is the only thing she has asked Santa for. Yet you have had to flee your home with nothing but the clothes on your back because you are a victim of domestic abuse. Money is tight, and while donated gifts bring relief, there is heartbreak when the one special item is missing.
Gift vouchers empower families to choose presents they know their children will love, buy food they know they will enjoy, and regain some control over their lives. This simple act helps make Christmas truly special.
Pathway Project continues to welcome donations of toys and gifts, but emphasises that vouchers provide unique flexibility and dignity for families in need.
The charity recently had a stall at the Lichfield Christmas Market on Sunday 16 November, where the spirit of giving was strong. One family, inspired by the campaign, donated £150 on the spot. This generous contribution will be used to buy vouchers for clients, ensuring more families can experience the joy of giving.
