Staffordshire WI to host Wellness Day this Saturday

A series of short talks will be on offer throughout the day.

There’s just a couple of days to go until our great Wellness Day for all Women at Staffordshire Showground. The event will take place from 10am-4pm on Saturday 26 September, and is run by the Staffordshire Federation of WIs. Most importantly, it is open to all women and is completely free of charge.

Free tea and coffee can be enjoyed while watching a wide variety of demonstrations of art and craft skills.

There will also be stalls selling produce, scarves, clothes, handbags, jewellery and skincare.

The WI members pride themselves on standing up proudly and supporting major issues which affect our lives.

We debate Resolutions each year. This year we are campaigning to help reduce homelessness, particularly for women, and to make it possible for men and women to have access to free public toilets.

A series of short talks will be on offer throughout the day from a chiropractor and a homeopathy and nutritional therapist, as well as talks on pranic healing, an energy-based therapy, and, from our partner organisation, Women’s Aid, a talk highlighting the work to help victims of domestic abuse.

You’ll also be able to try chair yoga, drop into a session of mindful art or have a go at resuscitation to help save a life in an emergency.

WI members are able to enjoy free workshops as education is an important part of the ethos of the organisation.

All women will be made welcome. Their journey around the Pavilions at Staffordshire Showground will open up new pathways to understanding health, mindful activities and, above all, have a fun day out.

Verity is Vice Chair of the Staffordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes.
