“We’re incredibly grateful to the sponsors, supporters and volunteers who made the day possible.”

Runners at Lichfield’s One More Lap charity relay have raised around £30,000 for local children’s charity Kids’ Village following a day of running, fundraising and live entertainment at Stowe Pool.
Held for the third time on Sunday 20 September 2026, the 12-hour ultra relay brought together 111 runners, in 20 teams and two solo runners. Participants completed laps throughout the day, supported by teammates, friends and family.
The free-to-enter event combined a running challenge with a festival atmosphere, with live music, food and drink, close-up magic, free massages and a free ice cream to help keep the runners going.

Event Director Ian Covey said that “to raise almost £30,000 by running round in small circles is a brilliant achievement”.
Huge thanks to everyone who took part, donated and cheered them on. Every penny goes to support Kids’ Village, as they get ready to welcome the first children and families next year.
We’re also incredibly grateful to the sponsors, supporters and volunteers who made the day possible. Their generosity helped us create an event that’s free to enter and welcoming to runners of all abilities.
The event was made possible by sponsors GEZE UK, GiveWheel, UKSE and Lichfield District Council.
Ebrook Osteopathy gave runners free massages, Alpha Running provided prizes, Lee Diamond entertained participants with close-up magic, and Tippers provided the event infrastructure.
The team from The Hub at St Mary’s helped bring festival vibes with live music across the day. Performances from Rory Black, Becky Gosling, The Minty Cucumbers, Kitten Pyramid, Vocalise and Hamish Cooper kept runners entertained in camp.
One More Lap is an annual community-led event organised by Lichfield-based social enterprise, 50by50 CIC. It will be back next year on Sunday 19 September. Find out more and enter at onemorelap.co.uk
