The evening will be recorded for a live album!
Amália Estradas, Minisinim, Paper Bird, Thomas Atlas and Kitten Pyramid will be performing at The Hub at St Mary’s on Saturday 15 August to mark two years of Ripple Music Group, which works to provide stages to original artists and function bands across the Midlands.
To raise the stakes, Ripple will be recording the evening for a live album!
The group says it believes “there should be a pathway for the next generation of musicians to step into paid gigs”. It runs songwriting workshops to help foster this, as well as original music showcase nights in Lichfield.
Ripple is directed by Lichfield musician Cloudy Galvez , who is also Head of Music at Lichfield Radio. She told the Echo that “it’s been a whirlwind of a first two years”!
“We’ve put on original stages at various venues around Lichfield city centre, with highlights being our first birthday festival at The Garrick Theatre, and in year two running our own stages at Lichfield Spring Food Festival and Fuse, alongside our involvement with Lichfield Radio and our fortnightly night at the Brewhouse & Kitchen.
“We also grew our function side this year, and now supply the live music across a number of venues across the Midlands.
“As for the next two, I’d like to grow the function side even more so we can offer more support to our community of musicians. On the original music side of things, we’ll continue to invest in our relationship with Fuse/Lichfield Arts, as well as building a new partnership with The Hub.”
